I Ching Hexagram #24:

The Turning Point

How to interpret "The Turning Point"

NOTE: This is the "Love I-Ching" interpretation. For standard, non romance-specific I Ching interpretations please return to the reference page here.

This welcome hexagram signifies a return to joy, intimacy, passion and purpose. The light has returned and pierces the darkness. Walk with your head held high, knowing that the tide has turned and that love is ascending. Like the winter solstice, this is a time of new beginnings and opportunities. It is a time of true health and opportunity. Your hard work has paid off. Love, energy and possibility are in the air. Be aware of change at this time. Some things must end for other things to begin. A turning point has been reached.

Changes in Line 1

"Correcting Mistakes"

This line is a reminder to be easy on yourself if you have made mistakes in past relationships. Be forgiving of yourself and step forward knowing you are back on track.

Changes in Line 2

"You Deserve Love"

Take a deep and long breath. Slow time down. Deliberately accept love. Do something nice for yourself. You will not be going forward alone. A fabulous partner will be by your side

Changes in Line 3

"Accepting Bad Habits"

Put self

Changes in Line 4

"Following Your Destiny Path"

To let more love into your life, don't stray from your own inner knowing and guidance. Trust your decisions and don't judge someone else's decisions. You cannot know their deepest truth. Let others follow their own destinies while you stay on course for yours.

Changes in Line 5

"Letting go of Remorse"

Forgive yourself for past relationship mistakes. You did the best you knew at the time. Since you did not consciously choose to make any mistakes, there is no reason to be hard on yourself for having made mistakes.

Changes in Line 6

"Clearing the Slate"

This line is a reminder that old relationship patterns could return if you are unwilling to start anew with a sturdy resolve. Accept responsibility. Clear the slate. If you need to do a "rewind" with someone, do one. You could say, for example, "I think we had a misunderstanding the other day. I apologize. What I really meant was such and such…"

A note on iFate's I Ching translation: This is not a direct translation of the original "Book of Changes" from 1000 BC. While multiple translations of the original text are available, they include many archaic references and can be difficult to understand for 21st century readers. iFate uses our own modern rewritings (two different editions) of the "Book of Changes" which makes interpreting I Ching readings far simpler. For iFate's additional contemporary re-writing of the original text, see our "Love I Ching" translation.
