The Meaning of the "Ace of Cups" Tarot Card
(Applies to the upright position)
The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

A dove drops what looks like a communion wafer into a cup that is being held aloft by a divine hand. Water flows out of the cup into the pond below. Little blue drops fall from the cup, which is adorned with either a "W" or an upside-down "M", depending on the interpretation. Lily pads and lilies adorn the pond below, seemingly made fertile by the dew from the cup.

The Meaning of the Tarot Card:

The purest form of spirit. The Holy Grail. A spiritual gift that is not given lightly. Joy, contentment, spiritual abundance, fertility. Creative pursuits are very successful. The communion wafer being brought to the cup by the dove, or the Holy Spirit, may be a reference the Christian transubstantiation of the body and blood of Christ, which is presumably what is in the cup. The distillation of the lessons of the Major Arcana into a more simplistic form in the Minor Arcana. Peace.
