The Meaning of the "Knight of Cups" Tarot Card
(Applies to the upright position)
The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

Gilgamesh, Odysseus. The personification of any hero that goes on a journey of the subconscious. The handsome young man on the horse is about to ford a river with his horse, grasping an equally attractive golden cup in his hand. The angel's wings that were on his mother's cup are also present on his helmet and spurs, once again signifying a deep connection to the spiritual.

The Meaning of the Tarot Card:

Note the similarity of the knight and horse to the Death card. This is the beginning of the journey into the subconscious, the Death card is where it can end up if the hero does not learn the lessons well enough. The Knight of Cups is a hero that is willing to not only face physical, but spiritual challenges as well. This card also symbolizes proper channeling of creative energies into a useful form. At its base level, it means arrival at something or an invitation to go somewhere.
