The Meaning of the "Three of Pentacles" Tarot Card

(Applies to the upright position)

The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

A sculptor is hard at work at his trade in a monastery or church. His work draws approving looks from a monk/priest and a member of the nobility. Three carefully crafted pentacles adorn the archway above their heads, with more presumably on the way from the stonemason. A rose is at the top of the middle pillar just below the pentacles.

The Meaning of the Tarot Card:

The apprentice of the Eight of Pentacles has progressed to become the master of his craft here. The satisfaction that comes from acknowledgement of the mastery of one's craft. It is also possible that the stonemason is doing work for the church at no charge out of piety. This card can also therefore represent piety, glory, and the inner rewards that come from a job well done and appreciated. The rose also has the deeper significance of inner mysteries. In this card, the pathway to those mysteries is the expression of generosity through hard work. Advancement will come through hard work and connections.
