The Meaning of the "Two of Cups" Tarot Card

(Applies to the upright position)

The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

A man and a woman are engaged in an act of union. Both wear ceremonial clothes and garlands, the woman a robe and tabard, the man a gaily decorated tunic. A modest house is in the background. A caduceus (entwined snakes) and winged lion arise from their conjoined cups.

The Meaning of the Tarot Card:

Is He My Soulmate? Free Love Readings

One of the main historic uses of the symbol of the Winged Lion has been for St. Mark, who was one of the servants that poured out the water that Jesus turned into wine. The caduceus and the winged lion appear to be married in this card, suggesting that a healthy union leads to transfiguration of the union from that of the physical to that of the spiritual. On a baser note, the card of course represents marriage and all of the vows and seriousness that accompany that union, as opposed to simply the joys thereof. Bonding with a spouse and a realization that the relationship needs to be taken to the next level.
