The Meaning of the "Nine of Pentacles" Tarot Card
(Applies to the upright position)
The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

A noblewoman dallies in her opulent garden with a hooded hawk. Entwined in the vines behind her are nine pentacles, one of which she rests her hand on lightly. A manor house is apparent in the background. She has look of detached amusement on her face and is not regarding the interesting bird in her hand - it looks like it may merely be an accessory to her. A snail crawls at her feet across the garden.

The Meaning of the Tarot Card:

The woman in the card is very wealthy, and from her self-assured nature, probably by her own doing. While she isn't sharing her success with any other people, her garden is fertile and she possesses vast intellectual gifts that have brought her to this point. This card is very much about the female approach to material wealth - storing up for hard times, prudence, achievement through restraint, and discernment. The woman in the Nine of Pentacles does not have 10 credit cards on the go at once - she would disdain their use altogether.

Appearance of this card may mean that either the individual has achieved wealth through the use of prudence, or perhaps that they need to if they have not yet achieved this goal. Whatever they are doing materialistically, they are on the right track if this card turns up. The worst that one should draw from this card is that they should stop and contemplate their spending and other financial ventures before continuing to ensure that they are doing the right things. A message will bring news about the home front or material gain shortly.
