The Meaning of the "Six of Swords" Tarot Card

(Applies to the upright position)

The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

A man navigates a small boat containing what appears to be his family. Swords stand guard around the prow of the boat and land appears to be very close. The man may also just be a ferryman with passengers. The water on one side of the boat appears choppy, and the water on the other appears calm and smooth.

The Meaning of the Tarot Card:

A forced new beginning. The journey taking place in the card does not appear to be a pleasurable one, but rather one that is enforced on the people in the card. There is a need for empathy for others - assistance may be needed shortly by friends or family. A journey over water may take place shortly. Travel plans may be in the works. Also a need for navigation on one's journey - right now the individual may be "steering blind" and may require some guidance from an outside hand.
