The Meaning of the "Ten of Wands" Tarot Card
(Applies to the upright position)
The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

A peasant is tiring under his burden of ten wands. He is walking towards a pastoral town which may or may not be the place where he can lay down his burden. His quandary does not seem to be in what he is carrying, but how he is carrying them - if he held them differently the burden would be easier to bear.

The Meaning of the Tarot Card:

Self-imposed burden. Oppression. Juggling of too many things at once, causing a sense of hopelessness and apathy. This card represents the person with all of the qualities of the wands suit, without the ability to focus and control them. Notice that the wands are still flowering, so the burden still has potential to be good. The individual has the tools to change his situation, but isn't using them. The person needs to "put down his wands" and try a different approach. This is seen most frequently in reference to careers, but could also refer to work/life balance. If the question is being asked in reference to legal matters, the person is sure to lose.
