The Meaning of the "Nine of Cups" Tarot Card

The Symbolism of the Tarot Card:

A man is guarding nine cups, all carefully arranged on a pedestal, almost an altar, behind his head. He is somewhat corpulent, and as such may be taken as a person who has just finished feasting on food and wine. The wine in the cups behind him is waiting to be drunk, and given his body language he will be the only one doing the drinking.

The question one must ask is: with all his wealth, why is this person feasting and drinking alone? The answer could be an unwillingness to share good fortune with others. The image may also represent great wealth or represent a wealthy person, albeit one that is not exactly into sharing their means with you. Contentment and happiness with wealth fairly accumulated.
