The first hexagram #43 breaks down into the upper trigram of Lake over the lower trigram of Heaven.
The following transformed hexagram, #13, is composed of a transformed upper trigram of Heaven over a transformed lower trigram of Fire.
The starting hexagram #43:
"Breaking Through"
The meaning of hexagram #43
Pressure has been building for some time. Now, like water cracking and bursting through a dam, old restraints are being broken. The river overflows the dam. The truthful finally cast aside the untrue. Tension gives way to motion. Powerful action has been a long time coming. The influences of those who are beneath you suddenly mean very little. A cloudburst. The months of April and May may have special significance to this hexagram.
The changing lines between hexagram 43 and hexagram 13
Changing line #2
"Keeping Alert"- This line is a reminder to keep constant vigilance. Step forward while staying aware of any potential threats and any opportunities. Continuously listen for cries of alarm.
Changing line #6
"Not Letting Struggles Stop You"- If you are not resolved to fully and finally break free of inner strife, this may be a time of misfortune. The wise person walks away from an unhealthy mindset and doesn't let inner struggles stop them from taking their next steps in life.
The future hexagram #13:
"Fellowship"
The meaning of hexagram #13
A social framework is at issue in this hexagram, which references groups of friends and the ties that bind them. Trust is important here, but also a willingness to put others before oneself. As in all fellowships, there is a pecking order. Some within are higher and some are lower. When this order is threatened, the entire fellowship can be threatened as well. Also referenced here is the concept of those who are inside the fellowship vs. those that are outside.
