The beginning hexagram #43 breaks down into the upper trigram of Lake on top of the lower trigram of Heaven.
The following completed hexagram, #4, is built from a newly transformed upper trigram of Mountain on top of a newly transformed lower trigram of Water.
The starting hexagram #43:
"Breaking Through"
The meaning of hexagram #43
Pressure has been building for some time. Now, like water cracking and bursting through a dam, old restraints are being broken. The river overflows the dam. The truthful finally cast aside the untrue. Tension gives way to motion. Powerful action has been a long time coming. The influences of those who are beneath you suddenly mean very little. A cloudburst. The months of April and May may have special significance to this hexagram.
The changing lines between hexagram 43 and hexagram 4
Changing line #1
"Stepping With Wise Feet"- This is not a time to plunge blindly and fervently ahead. Be resolute, but gauge your own strength as you attempt to go forward. Current problems may be a result of not looking where you are stepping
Changing line #3
"Severing Ties"- Be willing to walk alone if others do not share your cause. If someone does remain by your side who does not share your vision, you must find a way to avoid participation in their negative mindset. Cut yourself off from their negativity by listening to your own positive voice. Turn attention inward, not outward, and you will vanquish problems
Changing line #4
"Stepping Out of Inner Conflict"- This could be a time of inner restlessness and feeling cut off from your power. Learn from your mistakes. Current problems can be eradicated by letting go of the feeling of stubbornness.
Changing line #5
"Weeding the Garden"- Just as weeds continually rear up again and again, so to do difficult people in your life. This is a time to be resolute in your actions. If you feel it is best to let someone go from your life, do so.
Changing line #6
"Not Letting Struggles Stop You"- If you are not resolved to fully and finally break free of inner strife, this may be a time of misfortune. The wise person walks away from an unhealthy mindset and doesn't let inner struggles stop them from taking their next steps in life.
The future hexagram #4:
"Youthful Inexperience"
The meaning of hexagram #4
Inexperience is a double edged sword. It leads one to make mistakes, but the mistakes are necessary in order to learn. Do not feign knowledge. Seek out experience and ask what you do not know. Over time, all gaps in knowlege will be filled.
