The beginning hexagram #57 breaks down into the upper trigram of Wind over an identical lower trigram of Wind.
The second completed hexagram, #10, breaks down into a new, changed upper trigram of Heaven over a new, changed lower trigram of Lake.
The starting hexagram #57:
The meaning of hexagram #57
Like gentle wind wafting through a village, this hexagram suggests a time of influence and change. This is a time when clarity and truth can pierce through veils of illusion. Through earnestness and a sense of quiet peace, you can penetrate the hearts of those around you and spread goodwill and prosperity. This is a time to speak up and let your voice permeate the land. Communicate your wants and needs to those you love. The key here is to be gentle but continual with the expression of your dreams and wishes. Your will has incredible power to spread at this time. Be heard - but be true to yourself.
The changing lines between hexagram 57 and hexagram 10
Changing line #1
"Persevering through Doubts"- Don't let your doubts stop you from advancing. Persistence will empower you to tear right through doubt and thus progress toward your goal.
Changing line #3
"Spreading Ideas Respectfully"- This is not a time to be over zealous or impose your will upon others. If you want to assist or influence others, don't come across as a fanatic. You may have to change your viewpoint if you cannot succeed in sharing it respectfully
Changing line #4
"Hunting Without Regret"- The wise person will combine modesty with energetic action at this time. Go after what you want without losing sleep over past failures.
The future hexagram #10:
The meaning of hexagram #10
This simple looking hexagram relates to circumstances which might be inherently risky. In most cases treading in dangerous places is inadvisable. At this time however, there is very little danger. It is written in the ancient Book of Changes that "One steps on the tail of a tiger at his or her own risk" but the appearance of this hexagram suggests that right now such an act would be ignored (or even seen as playful). A more general reference here could be a mingling of people belonging to different social backgrounds. This sign is typically positive.
