NOTE: This is the "Love I-Ching" interpretation. For standard, non romance-specific I Ching interpretations please return to the reference page here.

This vital hexagram symbolizes a time of compassion, love, and heightened intuition. You have crossed the rapids and are in a good place, however, you must keep your focus on what you truly desire. This hexagram carries with it a strong reminder to remain focused on inner wisdom. If you are in a relationship, don't be swayed by your partner's shifting viewpoints. If you are single, don't listen to anyone else's ideas of what is right for you. Stay focused upon your inner voice and you will achieve a higher love. Don't become distracted by luxury and leisure. A time of warmth, affection, and increased wellbeing are indicated here, but you must keep your footing despite some strong currents tugging at you. Put your ideas/projects into motion. Cross the waters without apprehension. You know the path, and have always known it. Others may not.

Changes in Line 1

"Accepting Obstacles"

If your efforts to find love are blocked, keep your composure. Calmly set your sights right through all obstacles. You get what you concentrate on. If you focus your sights beyond the difficulties, you will clear all obstructions. Love will expand.

Changes in Line 2

"Blocked Passages"

You are at a standstill. Be content with waiting. The wise person 'fixes their cart' while they are waiting, and thus prepares for inevitable progress toward love and prosperity.

Changes in Line 3

"Doors Opening"

An opportunity for romance opens at this time. With reins held steadily, ride upon your steed through the open gateway. But keep your focus and stay aware of anything that could turn into an obstacle.

Changes in Line 4

"Restraint Builds Power"

This line suggests that holding back at this time will fuel a build

Changes in Line 5

"Combating Foes Indirectly"

Leave a trouble maker alone and he or she will naturally stop causing trouble on their own accord. This line is a reminder to place your attention in positive directions and current relationship problems will dissolve effortlessly. This strategy fosters true love because it comes from true strength, not weakness.

Changes in Line 6

"Accepting the Noble Destiny"

Congratulations are in order! You are one of the chosen ones. Your luck in love will set a positive example for others. Become a leader of leaders.

A note on iFate's I Ching translation: This is not a direct translation of the original "Book of Changes" from 1000 BC. While multiple translations of the original text are available, they include many archaic references and can be difficult to understand for 21st century readers. iFate uses our own modern rewritings (two different editions) of the "Book of Changes" which makes interpreting I Ching readings far simpler. For iFate's additional contemporary re-writing of the original text, see our "Love I Ching" translation.
