I Ching Hexagram #30

Hexagram number 30 is a sign of the return of light and love in your world. The path is clear for romance and the light of success is beginning to glow more brightly. The fog is lifting and your inherent brightness lights up the night sky like a sacred flame. Others will be naturally attracted to your inner glow. Share your warmth with someone. Lend a helping hand. If you go the extra mile right now, someone special will make note of it. It will be up to you to "stay bright" by staying aware of your deeper purpose and highest values. You will make great strides toward your goals and have a healing affect on someone. True love and intimacy are indicated here, but to achieve them you will have to shed your light and love on others around you.

Yellow light abounds. This is a sign of good fortune in romance. You are stepping into a higher culture and a larger world. You will be supported by a very special person at this time.

Changes in Line 3

"Staying Bright"

A setting sun does not mean the light has disappeared. It simply shifts the light's focus upon a new part of the Earth. Likewise, the wise person trusts there is always light. There is nothing to worry about. Your relationships are unfolding by a grand design.

Changes in Line 4

"Be the Humblest Star"

This line is a reminder to keep your light shining steadily. Someone will notice and appreciate you, but don't let this go to your head. A flash in the night sky, though dazzling, can fade all too quickly. Effortlessly shine your radiance like a steady and humble star. You will then form a lasting bond with the perfect person.

Changes in Line 5

"Giving Light to the Sorrowful"

All you have learned about love and life can help another right now. Your input is of great value. Give your light (love) to your partner if you have one, or shine your light out into the world, knowing it will be felt by a yet unmet future partner. Your kindness offers solace. Be a beacon to all.

Changes in Line 6

"Shifting Viewpoints"

Your views may be challenged by someone at this time. Should anyone oppose your views, be swift to correct them. With swift action and clear communication, this person will understand. If they don't, someone else will soon show up who is more in line with your efforts. Your brightness will be seen and appreciated.

The Two Trigrams Within Hexagram #30

NOTE: An easy way to think about the two trigrams is that the upper trigram represents external forces, while the lower trigram represents internal forces.

In the case of hexagram #30, the upper and lower trigrams match. One should note however, that the same trigram can reflect different meanings in the upper and lower positions.

Hexagram #30's Upper and Lower Trigrams of Fire

The life-giving trigram of fire is sometimes known by its more classical names, Dependence or Attachment. The trigram of fire is a building-block representing illumination and something that is both adapted and a source of warmth and security. The fire trigram may reference a 'second daughter' or the map direction of south.

While multiple translations of the original text are available, they include many archaic references and can be difficult to understand for 21st century readers. iFate uses our own modern rewritings (two different editions) of the "Book of Changes" which makes interpreting I Ching readings far simpler.
