This tool gives you a complete, professional numerology report for free!
How can we unlock the mathematical riddle of our lives? What is the numerological key which opens the doors to greater understanding? The answer starts on the day we are born: Our birthdate is the first set of important numbers which influence our lives.
Unlock the power of your name
Shortly after we are born we are all given a name. According to the basic principles of numerology, the simple act of our naming is one of the most powerful forces that shapes our lives.
Deciphering the secrets hidden within our names with a personal numerology reading (also called a "numerology chart" or a "numerology profile") is easy. Simply enter your name and your date of birth, and the free reading above will do the math for you. Using standard numerological calculations, we'll put numbers in perspective and reveal how your unique numerology influences your life and unlocks your potential.
"What numerology numbers am I?"
Your numerology report (which you can create using the tool above) will create 4 important numbers based on your birth date and the numerical values of your name. These numbers are your "Life Path number", "Destiny number", "Soul Urge number" and "Inner Dream number". Each of these numbers is connected and it's important to recognize that they each play off one another.
NOTE: You may also see the "Destiny number" referred to as the "Expression number" in some texts. Some numerologists may also refer to the "Soul urge number" as the "Heart's desire number".
No matter what names different numerologists use to describe these four vital numerological numbers, their relevance is the same. We'll walk you through those meanings when you create your report (above).
These four core numbers have been with you for your entire life. They affect your mood, your outlook, your abilities and the way you think about life. While you may already be familiar with the facts your numerology reading reveals, seeing them displayed so clearly before you can be eye opening. For many, numerology is simply a fast way to see the things you've always known about yourself -- but it also frequently opens up new pathways of understanding too.
iFate Numerology uses the numbers one through nine as well as the special "Master Numbers" eleven and twenty-two. (Some numerologists refer to these special double numbers as "mastery numbers").
NOTE: There are some Asian schools of numerology that use only the numbers one through eight. Other numerologists do not use the special master numbers 11 and 22. iFate's system of the nine basic numbers and the special master numbers is the most widely accepted numerological system.
The master numbers (also called "mastery numbers" by some numerologists) are much rarer than standard numbers. You won't come across them nearly as often in a numerological profile. When numerologists come across a master number in a numerology reading, they typically pay close attention and carefully study its implications.
Use your "birth name" for numerology readings
Remember that to get an accurate numerology reading, it's important to enter your "birth name", which is the name that was given to you on your date of birth and appears on your birth certificate. If you changed your name at some point in your life, or if you have a married-name, don't use this name for your primary reading.
Your original birth name is the one that affects your early developmental years, and has the greatest bearing on your life in its entirety. As with an astrology birth chart, it's all about your beginnings.
Numerology readings and middle names
It's important to use your middle name(s) in any numerology reading even if you keep your middle name a deep secret. As numerologist Marcus Shaw points out, "A middle name that someone hides can be more telling than ones that people use."
For your numerology reading to be most accurate, you'll want to use your entire name including your middle name.
Numerology readings and married names
If you changed your last name in marriage, you can still try a numerology reading with your married name. A reading with a changed name will provide additional insights -- especially if you have been married for many years already. But readings based on "changed names" should be considered "secondary readings" and less important than the primary reading which involves your original birth name.
Numerology readings and nicknames
You can also try using a nickname to build your numerology report if you have used it for your whole life. If you started using your nickname in your teenage or adult years, it will likely not have as much bearing on your profile. But if your nickname arose in the early years of your childhood, it will have more of a numerological influence on your mindset, emotional profile and character traits. It's certainly worth trying a report based on your nickname.
Numerology readings and name suffixes
There's a lot of debate surrounding name suffixes like "Jr", "Sr", "III", etc. Should they be included as part of your reading? We lean towards to the "no" side of that debate but iFate is here to build the tools, not make the rules. You're free to try your numerological reading with, and without your name suffix and see which reading more accuately describes your personality. Most numerologists do not include name suffixes in the numerology reading.
Numerology and business names
Yes, you can use numerology to investigate the name (or potential name) of your business. You'll want to use your date of incorporation, or date of inception instead of a birth date. While this tool is intended primarily for people, the same numerological concepts apply to businesses and people and may reveal interesting details about the culture and identity of your business.
What about "zero" in numerology?
Many people wonder why there are no zeros in name numerology readings. While zero does have significance in numerology, it's not a number you'll see nearly as often as the other numbers. And you won't see it at all in a name numerology reading.
The basic technique of most numerological methods is to "reduce" multi-digit numbers by adding them together. For example, the number "12" becomes the number "3" because 1 + 2 = 3. Likewise the number 1024 becomes 7.
When the sum of a multi-digit number results in another multi-digit number, we repeat the process and add the remaining digits together again. For example: If we take the number "67" and add "6 + 7" we get 13. Then we add "1 + 3" and reduce the number again and we get 4.
Therefore, zero is impossible to produce when adding two non-zero numbers together. Any number ending in zero, would be further reduced to a non-zero number using most common numerological techniques. The number "10" would become "1". Likewise, the number "100" would become "1" and the number "1000" would also become "1".
NOTE: There are some numerology techniques that are designed to preserve zeroes. In the above numerology calculator though, we stick with the basic system of reducing numbers until they're single digit numbers -- with the exception of the common master numbers (11 and 22).
Is numerology real?
Everything in the universe can be measured with numbers. Numbers can describe every force in nature, every object, every element and every person. Where science and math use numbers to measure our physical world, the study of numerology uses numbers to understand the divine and spiritual worlds.
We live in vast, dynamic multiverse of numbers. These numbers have powerful effects on our lives, and in the hidden complexity of these numbers there are deep insights which can help us understand every facet of our being.
The study of numerology dates back to ancient times. Pythagoras and St. Augustine both made careful studies of numerology, which went far beyond basic mathematics and delved deeply into the spiritual dimensions of numbers.
Numerologists see numbers and codes everywhere, and more importantly, they see relationships between those numbers. By understanding the numerical basis of things, numerologists draw connections between people and events, across space and time.
The spiritual use of numbers is encoded in design and architecture as well. We are surrounded on all sides by numbers that hold spiritual significance. A good example is the Chartes Cathedral in France: The cathedral was intentionally built around the numerological number 306, which in turn is a reference to the fish caught by Simon Peter.
Are online numerology readings accurate?
Numerology is unlike many other forms of divination and tools for personal introspection. There's really nothing different about an online numerology reading and an offline/personal numerology reading when it comes to name interpretation. The math is the math in either case. Many forms of divination require physical objects, a sense of touch, and the presence of another person. In that sense, numerology is different from other occult practices. Its roots are in mathematical formulae which have the same results offline or online.
As for accuracy, only you can be the judge. If you used a different name, nick name or married name -- you may want to try a reading with an alternate name. In some cases, the imprinting of another name can be more powerful than your birth name (although this is uncommon).
The numerology of our names
Most of us don't often think about our own names. We learn to take them for granted. But the effect they have on our personalities and the people around us is profound. Did you know that you subconsciously treat a "Jen" differently from an "Angela"? Or that you subconsciously treat a "Christopher" differently from a "Seth"?
These micro-differences in human interaction add up over a lifetime, and can cause amazing shifts in our personalities and our outlook on the world. Numerology has many different sub-disciplines, but the most basic and most common numerological analysis starts with our names.
Try it for your own name, your partners' name, or the names of your friends.
